We need a shift in the minds and hearts of people, not policy. This shift isn’t going to happen in political systems first, it needs to happen in the hearts and minds of our people.

Government policy can be hard to change. Politics divides people. The government doesn’t even care about us! So why are so many people pointing there to address issues?

Well then, what can we do today, to actually help? It’s long, but hear me out…

What has changed in the last 100 years? Our diet, physical activity, medicine, morals, values and family structures.

What has increased in the last 100 years? Anxiety, depression, loneliness, drug usage, suicide and other violent tragic events.

There are actionable changes in our morals, emotional intelligence, mental and psychical health that can make a huge difference to society as a whole. If we choose to live for it everyday and pass that skill and knowledge forward we can infinitely help others. Here are some actionable thoughts.

Mental health and broken families are strong predictors for much of the tragedy and disease we face today. Can you LIVE for your children? Actually live. Make better choices. Practice sobriety. Take better care of yourself physically and mentally? We can address our own mental health, emotional intelligence, we can raise our kids with intention, righteously. We can strive to live the values that Jesus did. Religion aside, we can take interest in what the Bible teaches as it is a great guide to life.

We need a change in the ideas of what makes a man. A real man exhibits the qualities of Jesus. Strong men are loving, calm, compassionate, understanding and uplifting to others. Far too often are many men the opposite of Jesus and even with terrible morals, weak righteous actions, still embody a large ego.

We need more friends praying for friends and lifting each other up. We need more families together, intentionally practicing and cultivating good values, helping and loving each other even when it’s hard, so they can rise above emotional blockages. We need kids being kind to other kids and adults. Which largely comes from what is at home. We need a change in morals and values towards our family and the people around us.

Our bodies are the most sophisticated chemical factories, we are as the CEO of the factory. When regulated properly, maintained with the proper tools, we have the power for bliss, happiness and love. The power to evade mental health genetic dispositions such as depression, anxiety and addiction.

Please, recognize the seriousness of these issues. If people do — then we can actually start to nip the thorn bush before it gets even more out of hand. This kind of positive shift WILL take place, but it’s up to us about how and when we will take matters into our own hands in a more serious way. How much needs to happen before we do this on a larger scale?Let’s not just continue on the hamster wheel of life, reacting to circumstance and expecting the government to change. Let’s make it happen.

Opening your eyes minds and hearts, realizing that the epidemic issues we face today can be fixed within ourselves first and can bring people from just reposting spreading awareness to being able to take action and really help each other, help kids, help families grow. Reaching out your hand to one another could save a life, or in the long run the lives of thousands. This shift isn’t going to happen in political systems first, it needs to happen in our hearts and minds.

Preparing my speech, JK. Sometimes I get so triggered. I keep seeing re-posts on this cycle: Mass shooting — thoughts and prayers — Facebook debates — congress does nothing — repeat cycle. Fuck congress, they don’t care about us one bit. You all already know that.

So why are so many people putting resolution in the hands of government for these issues? We as people have the power to decrease these unfortunate events. We don’t need them. What we need are ideas like this.
